smooth skinYou might ask:

If everything is so simple, why even bother with reading this blog post on epilator reviews or any other review?

Why not buy the first one that you set your eyes on and start removing hairs as soon as the package reaches your door step?

The thing is that there are many brands out there and reviews like these ones make the choice easier. And less time consuming.

Let’s see :

1. It must remove the hairs from the root. Not to cut them at the surface of the skin and leave the root in. This is one of the most important criteria.

2. The more tweezers it has, the less time each epilation session will take. It’s especially helpful when removing hair from the legs.

3. Easy cleanup. Hygiene is very important. Luckily, it’s really easy to have a clean epilator. That’s why I don’t share my epilator with anyone. I might be a bit of a control freak.

4. An efficiency cap is something I always want to find in the box because, trust me, it eases on the pain a little and it makes the entire hair removing process more comfortable.

5. There are all sorts of accessories like cooling gloves and massaging heads, having the same purpose: making the pain less intense. However, always use the cooling glove after epilation not before or during.

6. Built-in light ensures that you won’t miss any hairs.

7. Getting a dry one or a wet & dry one (it can be used under the shower, where pores are wide open and hair removal becomes less painful).

8. Number of speeds, usually two. There are few epilators who have just one speed.

9. Price as a reflection of quality.

10. Corded or cordless (rechargeable or battery operable).

The Perfect Model for Me

Considering all these features, I will try to describe the perfect hair removal device for me. Maybe it will help you figuring out what you need and want.

The best epilator for me is quite a simple basic device with 2 speeds, efficiency cap, corded because the long cord offers enough freedom of movement and I have enough things that have to be charged, and has built-in light.

If I were to take it a little further, I always favor epilators produced by a known brand as opposed to no-name ones. I would also like to try one that is such a bad ass that can pluck even the feeblest tiny hairs.

It would be nice because those tiny ones become big proud showing hairs in a week or so. That happens because hair grows in 3 cycles so don’t blame it on the device.

I’m not interested in wet & dry ones because I have developed a high tolerance to pain throughout the years. If you don’t handle pain well, you can always go for a wet and dry and use it under the shower in the beginning.

If you’ve waxed before, you may feel nothing more than a few pinches.

In the end, the idea is that you can keep it basic and simple and have smooth skin with a cheap epilator.

If you can afford to spend more money and get a more expensive device, do it because you only pay the money once and get to use the unit for many years to come.

Innovations don’t take place every year in this industry so you won’t be rushing online or to a store to get the latest thing out there.

This is money spent once and maybe not spent for another 2 or 3 years, at least. And there’s the standard 2-year warranty.

In the meantime, I’ve found a pretty amazing epilator – the Braun 9561. I’ve wrote all about my first impressions with it, if you are interested to see why I like this model so much.

I’ve had to give up on the idea of having a corded epilator but the surprise is that I don’t miss the cord. The fact that it’s cordless presents no advantage for me but at lest it’s not a disadvantage and that’s what counts.

I will shortly review a Braun Silk Epil 9 model, a very similar one to my new epilator. I only lack the facial cleansing brush that the 9579 has because I already had one so I bought the 9561 – it was cheaper.

Remember:

When you choose an epilator from a line of models (like the Silk Epil 7 or the Silk Epil 9) choose the device that has the accessories that you need. The epilator is more or less the same for the entire line, with the same tweezers and features. Only the accessories make the difference.

Top 5 Epilator Reviews That Fit Every Woman’s Needs

Via this post on epilator reviews, I’ve covered the basic things that everyone needs to know about these tiny devices.

Now:

Let’s see some models and gossip a little about them.

What I like

The HP6401 Satinelle from Philips is the perfect example of a classic epilator.

There’s nothing fancy about it, just that it does its job of removing hairs really good, it offers very satisfactory performances.

Also the price is the lowest you can get so this might work for a lot of women.

An alternative situated in the same price range would be Braun Silk-Epil 3170.

It’s corded, it has two speeds, it has an efficiency cap which is always a must, and the design makes it easy to hold so it’s ergonomically shaped, to put it in fancier terms.

Another important feature is that you can wash the epilation head .

Furthermore, it has 21 tweezers. It’s not a lot, I know, further down the road in this post on epilator reviews you will discover a device with 72 tweezers.

What’s the difference between the two?

Fewer tweezers means that the epilation process will be longer but at the same time the price is directly proportionate to the number of tweezers. So it’s up to you if you go for rapidity or for the lower cost.

The only accessory included is the efficiency cap. It might not seem much but it should help a great deal.

Philips HP6401 is an amazingly affordable choice and it’s not as painful as other epilators, which is a big bonus.

It’s definitely the ultimate low cost model from these reviews.

What I don’t like

It doesn’t have a built-in light but that’s not an incredible loss.

Also, Philips HP6401 doesn’t come with a cleaning brush but that is replaced by the possibility of washing the epilation head. You can replace the cleaning brush with a normal toothbrush.

Even so, I think it’s totally worth it, given the low price and I recommend it to all of you, especially if you are on a tight budget and want to keep it simple and classic.
